Human language, evaluated with precision.

I work at the intersection of European Portuguese, translation and language technology. I evaluate human and machine-generated text for accuracy, naturalness, terminology, consistency and PT-PT locale fit.

01Native PT-PT

European Portuguese supported by formal study in Translation and Language Sciences.

02MT + post-editing

Evaluation of accuracy, fluency, terminology, interference and naturalness.

03Terminology + CAT

Workflows using memoQ, Trados Studio, translation memories and terminology resources.

04External proof

Scientific EN to PT-PT translation published by EM-Movimento.

Capabilities

What I evaluate and what I deliver.

01

European Portuguese

Language review for PT-PT, including PT-BR interference, register, grammar, lexical choice and naturalness.

02

Translation and localization

Adapting content for readers and users in Portugal while preserving meaning, intent and function.

03

MT and AI language

Evaluation and post-editing of machine output with attention to meaning errors, artificial wording and recurring patterns.

Evidence

Work that makes the skills verifiable.

Academic practice

Structured training applied to tasks close to real language work.

I do not present university work as commercial employment. It is evidence of structured practice: translation, post-editing, terminology and QA tasks with explicit linguistic criteria.

01

MT / Post-editing

Machine translation analysis, identification of problematic segments and revision into natural European Portuguese.

02

EN-PT terminology

Creation and use of bilingual terminology resources for consistency in specialized domains.

03

memoQ / CAT

Computer-assisted translation projects using terminology, translation memory and segmented workflows.

04

Specialized translation

Work across technical-scientific, business and legal-administrative contexts.

05

Marketing / Tourism

Adaptation of promotional content with attention to audience, intent and naturalness.

06

QA criteria

Development of post-editing checklists and critical reflection on translation decisions.

Language evaluation

A sentence can be correct and still be wrong for the product.

When evaluating MT or AI-generated language, I separate surface correctness from actual language quality. A sentence may be grammatical while still being inaccurate, inconsistent, unnatural or inappropriate for Portugal.

1

Meaning

Compare against the source and identify omissions, additions or shifts in meaning.

2

Locale

Check vocabulary, constructions, formatting and conventions for PT-PT.

3

Naturalness

Remove calques and formulations that read as translated or mechanically generated.

4

Consistency

Verify terminology, tone, punctuation and cross-segment patterns before delivery.

Next step

See the linguistic judgment instead of only reading about it.

The Localization QA sample shows concrete PT-PT decisions. EM-Movimento shows published scientific work with external review. The AI translation study shows how I evaluate the limits of machine assistance across different text genres.
